This is an entomologist's box I picked up at a garage sale for 50¢. Looking back on these photos, I think it's quite possible the preservation chemical that originally emanated from the box may have inadvertently effected its design. The resonator is a sauce pan lid & the sound holes are crumb cups. Model railroad spikes guide the strings to the up-side-down tuning gears.
